What’s life without a little adventure?

I love adventures! Okay, I really love Advent-ures – activities to do during the Advent.

Advent begins 4 Sundays before Christmas – this year it’s December 2nd and ends on Christmas Day. The Christian Church denotes Advent by Sundays and using an Advent Wreath with Bible readings. Also, many people celebrate the Advent season by using countdown calendars.

Here’s what the Advent season looks like in my house (I’ll elaborate more on a couple of these in future posts):

  • Advent Wreath
  • Advent calendar
  • Countdown calendars
  • Reading by the Tree
  • Watching a Christmas Flick

I’m always looking for new ideas and ways to add to the excitement and anticipation of Christmas. I see Advent as the prequel to the Christmas season and look forward to it more and more every year.

How do you celebrate the Advent season?

A Christmas Story 2 officially comes out October 30, 2012 – direct to DVD. That usually doesn’t bode well; usually means that it’s not quite up to showing in the theatres.

I’ve read some of the comments related to this movie and haven’t seen a positive one yet. It’s being toted as “the sequel you never asked for”. You be the judge. Here’s the trailer:

Any thoughts? Good, bad, indifferent? Do you think this sequel will spoil the original? Will you add A Christmas Story 2 to your Christmas collection?

Andy Williams passed away September 25th, 2012. He was a wonderful entertainer and will greatly missed.

What I remember most, about Mr. Williams, is when I was younger. My mom loved watching variety shows, especially at Christmas time. I very much enjoyed watching his Christmas specials with my mom.

Here’s a clip I found on youtube. RIP Andy Williams.
